Emily says that a book entitled, THE LOST HERITAGE, by Walter Barton contains a section with the following :

"Samuel Barton traveled from Cynthiana, KY (currently Harrison Co) to Indiana in 1815, and had a son named William Bradford Barton (b. abt 1808, d. 1892). Samuel died before 1859. William Bradford Barton was the father of Tom Barton and Anson Barton (b. 1861)."

Emily suggests that VA and PA may have been the home of these Bartons before NC as the 1790 census lists four Bartons in VA and 18 in PA.
