From DeWanna:
"Isaac [Barton] was married to Julia Ann Patten in Floyd Co. Georgia on September 20, 1846. Isaac was living in Union Parish, Louisiana in 1860. One of his sons (my gt grandfather) John Harden Barton was born, March 15, 1858. If you will note the middle name of John. It is my belief that my Isaac Barton was connected to another John Barton that was married to a Patsy Harden and that my gt grandfather John Harden Barton was named after her."

I descend from Mary Holly (Barton) Hicks. She
was first listed in the 1840 census married to Henry W. Hicks. They
were a young married couple in their early 20s without any children. I believe,
but have not been able to verify, that Mary Holly Barton is the daughter
of John Barton and Patsy Hardin Barton of Jackson County, Georgia. Henry
W. Hicks was killed in an accident in 1860 and the Administrator of his estate
was Eli Hardin, who is probably the brother or uncle of Patsy Hardin Barton.
I believe this John Barton is the John Barton that came into Georgia with
Isaac Barton and Bayless Nations. I have been in contact with a descendant
of Isaac Barton, whose grandfather's name was John Hardin Barton. Also my
Henry Hicks and Mary Holly Hicks were living in Floyd County, Georgia and
remained there until their deaths. Living in Floyd County are other members
of the Hardin family that Paty Hardin Barton belongs to. I also believe that
Holly Barton who was living among the Indians just outside of
Hall County in 1817 and later moved into Hall County
in 1820 is probably the grandmother of my Mary Holly Barton. She is probably
the mother of John Barton.
