Joshua (b. 1718 d. fall of 1779; KY) (Irish Quaker, b. in Oxford, Chester Co., PA) moved to Fredrick, MD c 1726, to Swearing Creek in NC c1753-4. Md. c 1741 Jane DuBart. Child:

David Barton (b. 3-15-1744/7-15-1815; Wilson Co., TN) Md. 6-9-1771 Pittsylvania Co., VA to Hannah Hill (b. 3-25-1754).  David was a pvt. in Capt. Thomas Bradley's Co., under Col. John Alcorn.  Served 9-24-1813 to 12-10-1813.  Bd. in family cemetery in Wilson Co., TN with a pvt marker.  He was also a lieutenant in the Revolutionary War.  [See also Boone Co., MO for data on this family.]
