KING AND QUEEN COUNTY, VIRGINIA
From: Mary TINNETTE@aol.com
William Barton born abt 1735 probably in VA. enlisted in VA milita in King and Queen County at age 19, listed occup. as carpenter. also served in other regiments in Rev War. Married (prob) Susan Sharp before 1768 and had two sons, Thomas, born abt 1768 and Sharp born abt 1770. Susan died before 1785. I don't find William again until 1784 in Henry County, VA. There he married Septemma "Seppy" Russell 2-19-1785 and 9 children: William, Jr, Susanna, Betsy, Molly, Jane, Sarah, Nancy, Lydda, and Patsy. William died in late 1807 early 1808. After his death Sharp moved to Jackson County, Ohio and Thomas moved with his wife's family to Cumberland County, KY. Thomas married a Sarah "Sallie" Alexander. Sharp married X3, Sarah, Virginia Tilsey and Elsa Lewis. When Sharp moved to Ohio he took X3 sons with him. Thomas, William and James. James and William later moved to IN. I am uncertain what happened to William, Jr. I suspect that his mother "Seppy" moved with him.
