Shelby Co.: ELIAS TAYLOR BARTON buried Union Cemetery, Clarence, Missouri. b. 26 Mar 1832 d. 20 Oct 1914 Enlisted 1 May 1862 at Washington Co., Arkansas. Was a Private in Co. I 5th Missouri Infantry. Wounded at Baker's Creek and left near Edward's Depot, Mississippi 16 May 1863. Returned to duty by July 1864 and was in charge of baggage. Received Certificate of Disability 22 Mar 1865. Was the only one of five brothers who survived the war. ®346
From several articles in the Confederat Veteran, I gather that the MO boys followed this battle route:
Elkhorn, Farmington, Iuka, Corinth, Port Gibson, Baker's Creek, Black River, siege of Vicksburg, the Georgia campaign, including the battles around Atlanta and Allatoona.
