Daisy Bailey Waitt descends from Corporal James Barton of Orange County, North Carolina. [She was the] dau of Darius Samuel Waitt and Harriet Virginia Reese, daughter of Joseph Reese and Elizabeth Ann Scarlet, daughter of James Scarlett and Margaret (Peggy) Barton. He [James Scarlett] was born 1801 Orange Co. N.C. drowned in Eno River 1837. They were married 2-25-1826. Margaret was born 1800 Orange Co. N.C. died Hillsboro, N.C. 6-14-1874. She was the daughter of James Barton born ca 1762 Orange Co., N.C. died Montgomery Alabama, no date. He married Elizabeth Crabtree born 2-25-1779 Orange County, N.C. died after 1832.
