Lemuel Carrol Barton (b. 1839; SC) was a Texas Ranger in Civil war.  He md. Margaret (b. 1841; TN?).  She was killed by Comanche Indians when their son, Columbus, was 4 years old.  

• Columbus Alexander Barton (b. 9-27-1860) who md. Katherine Alice Johnson (b.1-24-1867; Johnson Co., TX).  Columbus was of Cherokee decent.  Katherine was of Simenole decent.
