I am looking for family of Benjamin Strothers BARTON. He was born in Fentress County, Tennessee abt 1836. He was married 28 Dec 1858 in Fentress County to Margarett EVANS. Benjamin was killed in the civil war 23 April 1865. His widow states that he enlisted July or August 1861 in Captain Bledsoes Company at Jamestown. The Confederate records show that he was a private Company F, Murray's 4th Tennessee Cavalry which became Company I, Smith's 8th (also called 4th) Tennessee Cavalry on 10 August 1861. Please contact me if you have any information on Benjamin.
[Teresa believes Benjamin may have some connection to her ancestor, Marion Barton. For more information on Marion, please view Grainger Co., TN.]
