I am looking for information on William Gaines Barton, b. abt 1820, married Elizabeth ??? and came to Columbia County, AR shortly before the Civil war. Son Larkin S. Barton b. Nov 23, 1840 in Macon, GA, married Prisilla Jane Boyett (I have land records indicating that they were neighbors) b. Dec 5, 1842 in Alabama. Their children were
Prisilla died when Bose Gaines was six years old. I don't have the name of Larkin's second wife, but their children were Doss and Eva.
I have a Columbia County Centennial tape where Bose Gaines indicated that he took Zephyr to Lewisville in a wagon so she could catch a train for Eastland County, TX. I think two of the brothers were already there and that they and she lived and died in Eastland County, TX.
